Our day starts pretty early I wake up at 4 and get dressed for work. I walk up to catch the taxi to the taxi rank where I catch another taxi close to work. I then get off and walk about 500m to work. I normally start work at 07:30 but get there by Six. I leave work at 05:30 where I walk up to the taxi rank and wait for a taxi to Alexandra taxi rank where I get on another taxi to go home I normally get home by seven. At that time Tristan will either have dinner cooked or will cook dinner sometimes he just makes a toasted sandwich. I watch T.V and go to bed by 09:30 to start again. Our weekends are different we wake up late go and buy food and really try to relax.
A Day in Tristan’s life is different. He wakes up to help me to get ready, then gets ready himself for college, once he is ready he walks to college where he sometimes spends most of his day, after college he walks home to do some chores and start preparing dinner, whilst dinner is cooking he studies for the next day of college, once dinner is cooked and he is done studying he waits for me to get home while he waits for me to get home he normally continues studying once i am home we have dinner and watch our favourite tv shows then go to bed.

So for my mom’s birthday I came up with the most divine Fridge Cake. I got the idea from a recipe book we were given but adapted it to suite us and It really turned out well. The recipe is very easy and simple to make. It was a real hit with my mom. I made it to go with the braai we were having.
Peach Fridge Cake
1 can of Peaches
1 cup of Orley Whip Cream
2 Packs of Biscuits ( We used Tennis Biscuit.)
1 Can of Nestle Caramel Treat
500 ml Fruit Yoghurt
Place the first layer of biscuits in a baking dish, Once done in a bowl mix the yoghurt, caramel treat and cream together and then pour a thin layer over the biscuits and spread it a little bit. Then put another layer of biscuits and continue until dish is full. Once it is full pour the last bit of Caramel treats mixture and then top with Peaches and then put in the fridge for about an hour. Then serve.
I promise if you serve this dish to your family and friends they will love you forever.
In South Africa we celebrated Freedom Day yesterday. It is a day were we celebrate our countries past and future and show that we are grateful for all the struggle icons like Nelson Mandela. They gave us our freedom. We chose to celebrate in the best way South African’s Know how by Braaing.
We chose to celebrate by doing a shopping haul at pick n pay Hypermarket Norwood Mall, then by braaing and making a South African Dessert.

As freedom day in south Africa gets closer and closer we thought we would celebrate it with what might be one of the most greatest speeches of all time that was made by our beloved Madiba ( Nelson Mandela). He spent twenty seven years in a prison on Robben Island in Cape Town. He was so heavily banned in our country but he is the reason for our countries freedom. As a country we still have a long way to go.
